Receptionist

When not working at the clinic, Sarah loves spending time with her lovable cat Rosie (purebred Persian) and watching sports.
Evan Bleakney

Amanda Thomson
RVT, Office Manager
Amanda, an experienced Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT), brings a wealth of expertise and a special passion for surgery to our team. Her dedication to the well-being of our patients is truly exceptional, and her teammates describe her as a standout professional who embodies the qualities of intelligence, compassion, and attentiveness. Amanda’s warm heart and extensive knowledge make her a beloved member of our clinic, where she goes above and beyond to provide the highest level of care. Her commitment to excellence in patient care, particularly in the realm of surgery, is evident in the lives she touches and the pets she cares for. Amanda is an invaluable asset to our team, and her genuine love for animals shines through in every interaction with our furry friends and their owners.
When she is not caring for pets at the clinic, Amanda enjoys traveling to warmer places and regularly volunteers at various shelters abroad doing spay/neuter clinics, walking dogs and socializing cats at the shelters.
Amanda resides in Oakville with her sweet cat Gracie.
Heather
RVT
Heather graduated from Sheridan College’s Veterinary Technician program in 2023, with a keen interest in laboratory work.
She has a longstanding passion for animals, having lived with cats for most of her life and also cared for rats, fish, and other aquatic life. Currently, she shares her home with family, three cats, and a dog.
Heather’s enthusiasm extends beyond veterinary care to a love for all living things, including plants and other animals. She thrives on helping others and embraces opportunities for continuous learning and personal growth.
In her spare time, Heather enjoys engaging in arts and crafts, such as crocheting, painting, and photography. She also finds joy in nature walks, where she explores and discovers interesting rocks, plants, and critters, and she unwinds by playing video games.
Kaitlin Jones

Ivana Amin
DVM
Dr Ivana grew up in Mississauga, and recently moved back after spending some time practicing on Vancouver Island in British Columbia. Dr Ivana completed her Bachelors & Masters in Biochemistry at the University of Wuerzburg in Germany, and her veterinary degree at the University College of Dublin in Ireland.
Dr Ivana is a compassionate veterinarian who firmly believes that the relationship between humans and animals is one of the most profound and meaningful connections we can experience. She understands that being a pet owner is more than just caring for an animal, but it’s about nurturing a deep, lifelong bond. Dr Ivana is committed to providing empathetic, patient-centred care that fosters trust and open communication between pets, their owners and the veterinary team. By working closely with families, she strives to empower pet owners to make informed, compassionate decisions for their furry loved ones.
Outside of veterinary practice, Dr Ivana loves to spend quality time with family, friends and with her sweet and talkative kitty, Maple. She hopes that in the (near) future, she would also be able to enjoy the companionship and joy that a dog can bring!
Mathew Best
DVM
Dr. Mathew Best has been a full time small animal veterinarian for 5 years, practising largely in the Oakville area in that time. Mat was born in Bronte and raised in Oakville having started working at local Oakville animal hospitals at an early age. Mat’s childhood surrounded with pets led to him inevitably deciding to pursue veterinary medicine at an early age. Mat completed his B.Sc (honours) in biomedical sciences at the University of Guelph and his veterinary degree at the University College Dublin, in Ireland.
Mat has a wide range of interests and thoroughly enjoys learning new topics. He takes particular interest in minimally invasive surgery (laparoscopy and endoscopy), soft tissue surgery, chronic and medically complex cases, dermatology and allergic skin disease, geriatric/palliative care, medical/urgent appointments and the routine appointments where we have a chance to optimise our pets health and pick up on small issues before they become bigger. He enjoys the daily diversity of cases that veterinary medicine brings.

When not at work she is spending time with her cat, Freya. Her other interests include horseback riding, hiking and art.
